Entrepreneurship Week at Stanford (February 21 – 28) Features Free Events on Cleantech and Social Enterprise

Entrepreneurship Week at Stanford University will be taking place this year from February 21-28.  The week's events includes the following programs that will focus on cleantech and social enterprise.  All the events listed below are free to the public and do not require advance registration:

Feb 23: Entrepreneurship in Biofuels and Bioproducts
12:00-1:00 PM, Bishop Auditorium, Stanford Graduate School of Business

Featured Speaker: Jonathan Wolfson, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Solazyme

Bring a brown bag lunch and hear a fascinating discussion on market trends and opportunities in biofuels and bioproducts, with a particular emphasis on how algal biotechnology is enabling the renewable production of clean fuels, chemicals, foods and health science products.

Feb. 25: Entrepreneurship at the Intersection of Three Cs: Cleantech, Computing, and the Cloud
12:00-1:00 PM, Bishop Auditorium, Stanford Graduate School of Business

Featured Speakers: Warren Packard, a Managing Director at Draper Fisher Jurvetson, and Andrew Feldman, CEO of Seamicro

This brown-bag lunch presentation will examine entrepreneurship, founder/board member relations, and innovation taking place at the intersection of Cleantech, Computing, and the Cloud. Hear the sparks fly between two seasoned industry experts who were also classmates at the GSB.

Feb. 25: Water Technology Startup Expo
6:30-8:30 PM, Stanford Graduate School of Business, South Building, Lower Arbuckle Lounge

Come enjoy a showcase of startups offering water-related technologies and network with other people interested in the sector. Walk through at your leisure, visit their tables, and talk with the entrepreneurs about their offerings while enjoying light snacks and beverages.

Feb. 28: Structures for Social Enterprise: Panel and Showcase
3:00-5:00 PM, Wallenberg Hall Learning Theater, Building 160

Sponsored by the Center for Social Innovation, this lively panel discussion features social entrepreneurs Kjerstin Erickson (FORGEnow.org), Eve Blossom (Lulan.com), and Esther Kim (REDF.org). Moderated by Kriss Deiglmeier, executive director for the Center for Social Innovation, the panel will discuss nonprofit, for-profit and hybrid models for starting and growing a social enterprise. From 4-5 p.m., mingle with entrepreneurs at a fair showcasing their intriguing early-stage social ventures, sponsored by Neerja Raman of Media X at Stanford University.
