EcoPest Supply Releases List of Top 25 Bed Bug Cities During 2022

AUSTIN, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#bedbugcities–EcoPest Supply, a leading supplier of eco-friendly pest control products, has released its much-anticipated list of the top 25 cities for bed bug infestations during 2022.

The company analyzed a random sample of the cities of 50,000 customers in the United States who purchased bed bug detection and mitigation products during 2022. These products include their signature line of bed bug interceptors, a device designed to catch bed bugs as they attempt to climb up furniture legs, and their popular bed bug glue traps.

“We believe this is the most comprehensive study using the largest sample data set of its kind,” said company spokeswoman, Jessica Clark. Ms. Clark noted, “Some bed bug service providers publish similar studies but do not cover parts of the United States and/or base their findings on a significantly smaller data set.”

While the top three cities: New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles, might not come as a huge surprise because they are large population centers and hubs for international travel, EcoPest Supply created a second list adjusting for population using 2020 U.S. Census Bureau data. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania takes the unfortunate top spot on this list. The full list and analysis can be found here: Top Cities For Bed Bugs in 2022

“Our internal data shows an increase in bed bug activity in 2022 vs 2021,” said Vice President of Sales and Business Development, Chuck Felici. “While bed bug prevalence has generally been on the rise since the 1990s, we believe that the post-COVID travel resurgence has been the primary driver of the recent spread over the year.”

Felici added, “Bed bugs are one of the most pernicious and hard to get rid of pests so it is important to seek qualified, professional help at the first sign of trouble.”
