Renewable Energy Incentives to be Included in U.S. Senate Version of Financial Rescue Plan

A brief update — according to media reports (including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Associated Press) the financial rescue package that will be voted on today by the U.S. Senate will include a package of renewable energy tax incentives. Although the U.S. Senate (H.R. 6049, passed by the U.S. Senate 93-2 on September 23) and U.S. House of Representatives (H.R. 7060, passed by the House 257 – 166 on September 26) each approved packages of renewable energy incentives, it had been viewed as unlikely that any final package would be enacted before Congress adjorned prior to the November election.

Update: This legislation was passed by the U.S. Senate on October 1st.  A copy of the bill can be found here (PDF). The language pertaining to  renewable energy tax incentives begins on page 110.
