March 5 is Deadline for 2010 Purpose Prize; $750,000 in Cash Awards Available

March 5th is the nomination deadline for the 2010 Purpose Prize.  The Purpose Prize provides five $100,000 and five $50,000 awards to social innovators over the age of 60 working in "encore careers" (defined as combining personal meaning and social impact with continued work in the second half of life).

The Purpose Prize is an annual program sponsored by Civic Ventures, wiith funding provided by The Atlantic Philanthropies and the John Templeton Foundation.  In addition to the 10 Purpose Prize winners, an additional 40-50 individuals will be selected as Purpose Prize Fellows.
