On September 20, SVForum will present the next program in its Clean Tech Breakfast Series entitled Transforming Waste into Energy. A summary of this program is:
New energy solutions are being discovered and refined to overcome the budget contraints of high oil prices and mitigate the environmental impacts of carbon waste. Something that does not get a lot of headlines is utilizing existing consumer waste and transforming it into energy. We want to highlight its significance internationally, and potentially discuss why it is an under-utilized resource in the United States. Our panel discussion will include topics addressing:
- Emerging trends in this industry, staying away from biofuels and focusing more on consumer and carbon waste
- Technology needs and promise in sorting, conversion, and transformation of waste into energy and fuel needs
- Product cycle issues including Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), producer responsibilities, and zero waste trends
This program will include the following panelists:
- Mark Bowles, ecoATM
- Mike Jackson, The Westly Group
- Patrick Mathews, Salinas Valley Solid Waste Authority
This program will be held from 8:00 – 10:00 am at SAP, Building 1, 3410 Hillview Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304.
