GOOD Worldwide, a Los Angeles, California-based company with a mission "to unite, celebrate, and support the individuals, businesses, and non-profits driving progress in today’s world," announced earlier this week that it closed a series A round of funding. The round was led by GOOD co-founder Ben Goldhirsh and included several angel investors, including Nicholas Negroponte. According to a report on TechCrunch, this round was in the "single digit millions."
In this announcement the company also stated that Reason Pictures, GOOD Magazine, and GOOD Digital have been consolidated under a single entity (GOOD Worldwide) and that as part of this consolidation, Craig Shapiro was named President of GOOD Worldwide in December, 2008. Mr. Shapiro previously led GOOD's digital efforts, was Head of Content Strategy and Acquisition at SK Telecom-Earthlink Joint Venture (Helio) and served on the board of the Mobile Marketing Association.
