Cleantech Institute is October 4 – 6 (Discount Available)

August 26, 2009 by Staff

From October 4 – 6, the Cleantech Institute will take place in Berkeley, California.  This event is a three-day executive education program designed to advance commercialization of clean technologies.  An overview of the program is as follows:

October 4
Cleantech Primer: State of the Cleantech Industry
An in-depth discussion on the key elements of the cleantech industry’s performance: the economic, political and innovation equations. This day will include a brief industry history, economic and business models, current political players recent successes, key players, the role of government, and a comprehensive technology overview, including a discussion and poster session of emerging technology focus areas. The Cleantech Primer can be taken as a standalone course or may set the stage for the debate in Day 2 and 3. Participants will leave Day 1 with a broad understanding of where cleantech has been, the major players and where it is going.

October 5
Innovation & Policy
The Innovation and Policy segment is designed to understand the technology needs within energy and how to design and execute that technology (including concept, technology, prototype development, manufacturing, supply chain management, the role of IP, growth and more) within the context of the political and regulatory environment. Day 2 will feature real world examples and candid accounts from proven cleantech executives and research scientists. Participants will leave Day 2 with a clear understanding of designing and executing a successful cleantech company.

October 6
Financing & Commercialization
The Financing and Commercialization segment explores the final stages along the path to commercialization and beyond, including partnerships, financing, exit strategies and more. Day 3 will focus heavily on current policy and its potential impact, as well as a view into the future through the lenses of investors, technology innovators, and thought leaders.

This program will take place at the Center for Executive Education, Haas School of Business, University of California – Berkeley, 2220 Piedmont Avenue, Berkeley, CA.
